Expecting in España

"Much to my surprise, at the ripe old age of 37, I discovered that I had fallen pregnant. I had long ago given up hope of ever hearing the patter of tiny feet and my first reaction was one of shocked disbelief. Nino's reaction was more straightforward - he was just shocked. Where are you all coming from?

"If you were a child living in the UK in the late 1970s/early 1980s, then you will more than likely remember the National Garages and the role they played in introducing us to the Smurfs. Smurfs were given away by these garages as part of a petrol promotion and many children enjoyed collecting these little blue figures... However, when the promotion ended, the PVC Smurf figurines disappeared from UK shores." Karen Johnson reckons they may be on the way back:

Clark's Caledonia

"I strolled around the shore of Lochan Hakel hoping to see something glittering in the water. Briefly, I did, but it was only the flash of a trout as it surrendered with a final flourish to a delighted angler. No sign of Prince Charlie's gold, I'm afraid."
