Best Blues In Bangkok - latest update!
Les wrote in to tell us that 'The Reverend' and 'Thodi' have left the
Delta Boys and formed a new group called the SOI DOG BLUES BAND http://SoiDog.homestead.com
and Trink has given them rave reviews, as they just debuted at the US
Embassy ID4 celebration with over 2000 people in attendance. Blues Kats,
let it be known...there's a new 'dog' in town... Ciao Maestro!
[Jan 2001]) If you're looking for a good night out in Bangkok, you'd
be hard pushed to do better than go to where The Delta Boys are playing.
The Delta Boys don't do requests and they sure as hell don't do
Eagles songs. Their laid-back attitude belies their talent. They
look like they're just there to have a good time;and presumably they do.
The audience gets one too. Dr Blues sits there looking so cool, while
playing stuff to turn Clapton's head (sorry guys if you're reading this,
you're probably not Clapton fans). They're... ach, you don't need me to
keep waffling on about them. Have a look at their own website instead.

[update: Feb 2002] Sadly it looks as if the Delta Boys are no more. But
you can still find out a hell of a lot about blues in Bangkok on their
website - and get a link through to Dr Blues's own site too...

MP3 - free!
by Dr Dave
Are you interested in downloading music off the Internet? Then you may
well have heard of MP3, the compression format for music files, but may
have been put off by the thought of having to fork out for special software.
Well, the good news is that you can have it all for free - you don't have
to buy software or a special player (unless you want to listen on the
move). All you have to do is download a free player which will then enable
you to download and play free MP3 music. Many MP3 players have a "ripper"
facility which will convert audio CDs to MP3 files. If you know what you're
doing - go straight to CNET
downloads. If you're not sure where to start, try CNET
help for more details. (In both cases, just click on the MP3 link
under the main header.)

Stewart, the young one in Taggart.)
