Ye would have been invited, yesterday, ' cos yesterday was my birthday.

And traditionally, here in Ruggies, there would have been a party.

Indeed, in my day as barman, there would have been home brew, and other home-distilled, ermmm , punches, for anyone who had a birthday.

Och, those were in the good old days when BE had a heart. And when folk who dipped in here kept in touch.

I assume that maintaining boards for specific countries brings some sort of income? Otherwise why? Great if you get sponsors for boards.

But all these specific boards doesn't half f*ck up the community we once had.

No chance of getting a sponsor for Ruggies, then.

Happy birthday Mike!!
You make some interesting points as usual. But (and isn't there always a but) even you are not as frequent a visitor as you once were, people change, things evolve and perhaps BE is evolving into something different to what it was? I don't know if that is better or not, but it seems to be the way of things here in cyberspace. If this forum acts as a gateway into the rest of the site then that's great. If not then perhaps it should be looked at with a dispassionate eye and revamped or removed? I know you always say it like it is and I certainly respect that, it is helpful for the general discussions on the board. My Mum always said you can't go forwards looking back, and I think what you talked about is a good example of that. The board needs to move ahead and hopefully prosper by astute management, forward thinking and good planning.
Could you not persuade one of the local distilleries to sponsor Ruggies??
Hope you had a good birthday.
Cheers.

Smile

Graeme

A belated Happy Birthday Boss - you could have dropped some subtle hints. If the staff don't know, we can't spread the news.

Cheers.....long may your lum leek (don't know what it means, but it sounds good! Laughing

The last thing he wants is for it to leak! Lum is a chimney, and when it reeks there's smoke coming out of it.

Belated Happy Birthday, Mike. Are ye getting auld yet?

I suppose I'll have to sign of and order to replenish the stock of Ord, even if you were the only one around to drink it.
