UK Government - sign petition to end frozen expat pensions

The UK Government has opened a site containing e-petitions. If over 100,000 signatures are obtained, the e-petition could be debated in the House of Commons.

Currently, http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/16387 takes you directly to the END THE UNFAIR FROZEN OVERSEAS PENSION POLICY petition - as long as you are a British Citizen you may sign the petition. Closing date is 08/09/2012.

Add your signatures, and we may get another opportunity to change this silliness, as why should it be different for Brits in the U.S. (for example).

Note that, for more than one person to sign this petition, each must show a different email address (go figure). This is a very worthwhile endeavour but many more signatures are required to reach the goal. Beyond signing it yourselves, be sure to send a request to family and friends back home in the UK to add their signatures, after all, why should anyone be financially punished by a reduced pension simply because of their choice of where they live in retirement.
