Dog Friendly Hotels

Here's the place to talk about issues relating to family and pets, such as having a baby in Spain or bringing your dog to Spain.

Dog Friendly Hotels

Postby Alan-LaCala » Thu 09 Dec 2004 07:24

Having researched the least stressful way to take our large dog when we move to the Costa del Sol next September, I am increasingly attracted to the idea of the Plymouth to Santander ferry (with kennels), and then taking 2 days to drive down.

In which case we would be looking for a dog friendly hotel about half way, say around Madrid.

Anyone know of one, or any web sites that would have that information?

Thanks.

Alan

Until our large standard Poodle died recently, we found the least stressful journey for all of us was a 'gentle drive' from Calais.

The main reasons for this are: - Every hotel (and most cafes, bars and restaurants) in France are pet friendly (nearly), and our dog preferred being with us rather than being in kennels, plus neither of us are sailors.

Spain is not notorious for it's friendly attitude to dogs, and your main problem will be when you are dining as not many Spanish establishments will allow your pet into their premises. We have even been told to leave outdoor terraces!

Try:

or specifically:

I have no experience of either, but Aranjuez is about 70 kms from Madrid which is about 5-6 hours drive from Malaga.

hi,
we currently let out our country home in yatova valencia
and allow pets to stay there. it is usually let out on a weekly basis but could let you have it on a day to day basis for a cheaper cost.

We found to our surprise that the Accor chain of hotels except animals for a small charge. F1, ETAP & Ibis.
Ibis even let them into the restaurants & you can book online or just turn up.
